Heathrow’s Personal Shopping service promises to turn frequent fliers into fashionistas

Ever had that moment when you forget to pack your favorite evening dress or a fail-safe tie for an important trip? Trawling through duty free stores at the airport for hours until you can find a decent replacement is a daunting task to undertake. The good people behind Heathrow Airport probably had this very dilemma in mind when they introduced their new personal shopping service for fliers.

The multi lingual personal shoppers will find you the perfect ensemble and in the process, help you get back into your stylish groove! The service needs to be booked in advance but is free of cost and available to all travelers (formerly, it was available only to individuals flying by First Class).

The launch of the service was announced at Somerset House in an event co-hosted by model Erin O’Connor who emphasized the importance of travelling with a chic and current wardrobe. The 300 participating outlets include celebrity jewelers Cartier, Tiffany & Co., and Bulgari as well as high end designers like Alexander McQueen, Gucci, Hermes, Miu Miu, Ralph Lauren, and Valentino. Accessory enthusiasts have much to be excited about thanks to participants like Bally, Coach, Dior, and Dolce & Gabbana. Burberry and Prada,.

Heathrow’s retail director, Muriel Zingraff-Shariff called the airport’s Personal Shopping service “a World First” and the source of much pride for the team. It promises to be a fashionable new venture for the airport as well as style savvy fliers. One can only hope that other global airports can follow suit in the hopes of creating some on-trend travelers!
