Icelandair offers a stopover to dine with the stars

These days, holiday experiences are harder to tailor because a lot has been seen and much has been done already. Yet the earth has plentiful hidden treasures that we are yet to stumble across, discover and most importantly, experience. Icelandair is no stranger to breathtaking surprises. The latest is a magical experience, nestled in nature and wrapped in tradition. The airline is offering its guests an Incredible Stopover. As is the name, so is the experience. Passengers flying from North America or Canada can take a short break on their way to one of 25 European cities.

This is not just any short break that airlines entice you with. It is truly magical – a 360 degree view of the beautiful Icelandic coastline, the impressive Mýrdalsjökull glacier and a huge arch of lava which reaches out to the sea. And you can experience this in a lighthouse that is more than a century old. There are two packages – the full package and the light package. In both, for those taking a transatlantic flight can take a two day break where they get to stay at a suite at Icelandair Hotel Reykjavik Marina and one night in the lighthouse.
As per the full package, during your stay, you can enjoy Incredible activities such as a helicopter tour of Reykjavik with Norðurflug Helicopter Tours, private guided tour in a Super Jeep from Reykjavik to the lighthouse, exploring Gljúfrabúi, Seljalandsfoss and Skogafoss waterfalls, a hike on Sólheimajökull glacier or horse riding at Skálakot, a trip to the black beach at Reynisfjara and a visit to Fontana Spa. They might read Greek to you, but some mild Googling will show you that they all spell s-p-l-e-n-d-i-d.

The light package features a one night stay at the hotel and one night at the lighthouse, and includes a visit to the Fontana Spa and airport transfer in style, luxury and comfort.

The packages are both available only for a limited period, from September 1, 2015 to November 1, 2015. They both are available for groups of four. The full package will cost £2,284 ($3,500) per person and light package will start from £1,533 ($2,350) per person.
