Imagine you are cuddled up in bed and watching a movie on a huge theatre screen with popcorn and coke and all. Can it get better than this? It is like having the best of both worlds. In an innovative and ingenious move, the Swedish furniture company IKEA launched their “Cinema of Love” campaign by transforming the Kinostar de Lux cinema in the Moscow suburb of Khimki.
They removed all the seats of the theatre and replaced them with 17 double beds, all decked up with comfortable mattresses, pillows and blankets.
IKEA says they surveyed people around to find out what we have to do to have more love around us and the most repeated response the got was “to spend more time together”. Taking a cue from this IKEA came up with this unique campaign of facilitating people to be together. They have previously installed beds in the Olympia music hall in Paris.
One only hopes that people don’t get too comfortable and fall off to sleep whilst watching the movie as the ambience is just right to catch a quick nap. To experience this you need to make your way to Moscow where the campaign runs till December 14th 2014.
