London Harrods finally gets a new owner at $2.3 billion

Finally the cat is out of the bag! Mohamed al-Fayed has let go of his upmarket super store. Qatar Holding is now the proud owner of the London Harrods. After 25 years of being in possession of the luxury store, he will now assume the role of honorary chairman. The deal is said to be made at $2.3 billion, but the reports remain unconfirmed. This is the fifth ownership for the store since it came into existence in 1840.
