Forget the malls and streets at London, its Heathrow Airport’s Terminus 5 that is all set to be the city’s next big shopping destination. T5 reopened just yesterday after a massive renovation that took 18 months and cost a whopping £40 million. It was model Laura Bailey who was chosen to front the prestigious launch. The fashion icon is pictured in a cream maxi dress, grey coat and high heeled sandals as she struts through T5, accessorized with numerous shopping bags that advertise her many purchases.
Heathrow has opened its doors to a plethora of high street and luxury brands, from Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Mulberry, Prada to Zara, Sunglass Hut and Michael Kors. Heathrow Terminal 5 has, in fact, been voted by passengers as ‘Best Airport for Shopping’ for five years in a row. John Holland-Kaye, CEO of Heathrow commented, “Our ambition is to take Heathrow from being one of the best airports in Europe to one of the best in the world – we have always been famous for the quality of our retail experience. Today, we have taken it to a new level.”
So the next time you’re in London, you may give Saville Row a miss and try some retail therapy at Heathrow instead!
