Gotham Air, a premiere daily crowdsourced helicopter service has been announced in alliance with Helicopter Flight Services (HFS) to help regular commuters, and not just the elite, get to the airport in style and a whole lot faster!

For first time Gotham Air flyers, a flat $99 fee will be charged via departure from one of three Manhattan heliports to JFK or EWR; after this introductory price get ready to shell out a one way fare ranging between $199 and $219 depending on your departure time. Users can book flights via the iOS GothamAir app which will be available in early Feb or by logging onto their website –

Gotham Air CEO Tim Hayes had this to say – “Our customers can go from sitting in a car to relaxing in one of our luxe choppers within minutes. We plan to bring a new level of luxury and convenience to people’s lives.”

Aside from the choppers being fitted with luxurious interiors thanks to Hermes leather furnishings, and the service which includes VIP lounges and ground support concierge services, flyers can also avail of complimentary hors d’oeuvres provided by world renowned Chef Thomas Keller’s Bouchon Bakery and beverage services that would be made available for afternoon flights.

And on those occasions when winds are too high or the cloud cover is too low, expect a sleek Tesla S to stop by your office or home for a quick pick up and drop to the airport. On their fleet of choppers are seven Bell 407’s which have been called ‘the sports car of helicopters with speeds of up to 160mph with first class seating’. Gotham Air also employs the services of one Sikorsky S76 C+ as well as one Bell 427.

Crowd sourced flight reservations will begin today and regularly scheduled flights will roll out by spring 2015.
