The Residence has gained a reputation as Etihad’s extravagant suite in the sky. While the Residence is not exactly new anymore, the airline is keeping things fresh by taking us all on a tour of the fabulous airplane apartment. It’s like MTV’s Cribs, but for fabulous airplanes.
For those who still don’t know (you must be living under a rock!) the Residence is a three-room apartment comprised of a living room, bedroom and ensuite shower. The cost of this suite is $27, 000 for a trip from Sydney to Abu Dhabi, but you’re paying for more than just the space.
In the video, the tour is conducted by a Savoy trained butler, who points out the in-flight luxuries on offer that include fine dining experiences, a 32-inch flat screen TV and even a massive 6ft 10-inch double bed.
While fliers in economy are sometimes bumped up to First Class or Business Class, nobody can be upgraded to The Residence. You can only ever experience this novelty by paying full price for it.
If you can’t get enough of the Residence, get full account of flying in it here and check out the designer amenities that Residence guests are treated to.
