Wheeler Expeditions is offering thrill seeking travelers an opportunity to gain a bird’s eye view of the magnificent Himalayan mountain range. The Himalaya Helicopter Expedition is an 8 day adventure that enables guests to explore 8 peaks that stand over 8,000 meters, or 26,250 feet tall. The trip begins in late April when guests board two AS350 B3 helicopters to fly from Kathmandu to Everest Base Camp which is a whopping 19,000 feet above sea level.
Over the next 8 days guests will be treated to some fantastic mountain views as they take to the skies in their choppers. The helicopters will land to explore locations like Everest’s Western Cwm and Scoundrel’s Viewpoint in Nepal’s Gokyo Valley. Guests will enjoy the view from peaks like Lhotse, Cho Oyu, Makalu, Kanchenjunga, Manaslu, Annapurna, and Dhaulagiri and will land for unforgettable experiences like sipping yak butter tea with monks in Tengboche, enjoying views of the world’s highest lake: Lake Tilicho, and even visiting the isolated Nepalese Kingdom of Lo. Travellers will be accommodated at hotels like the Yak & Yeti hotel in Kathmandu and Everest Summit Lodge in Pangboche.
The expedition is priced at $22,500 per person (plus extra for flights). The trip is operated by Jack Wheeler who founded Wheeler Expeditions and has conducted the Himalayan Helicopter Expedition four times already. The seasoned climber is highly regarded for having summited the Matterhorn at just 14.
