Free time and money are usually mutually exclusive commodities, those who have one rarely have the other! But for those few who have both in excess an Antarctic adventure awaits! London-based Jacada Travel and megayacht company EYOS Expeditions have joined hands in a stellar collaboration that will allow leisure travelers to take an Antarctic cruise aboard a 232-foot-long newly restored yacht (titled the Enigma XK) that will be available for charter. The best part of this icy cool cruise? The itineraries are flexible! That means you can stare at whales and laugh at dolphins for as long as you want!
The Enigma XK has much to offer including impressive 180-degree views, a spacious upper salon with dramatic windows to view the scenery, a spa pool, a protected alfresco dining area, a massage room and a helipad. The yacht also includes tenders that can be used for scuba diving, fishing, and waterskiing. The icing in this cake is that the tour operators are not required to outline day-by-day itineraries, which means that guests can decide how much they spend on what activity and can customize their cruise to their best advantage.
The vessel carries a professional 21 member crew who are happy to include activities like kiteskiing, ice camping, glacier hiking, kayaking and abseiling and are equally happy to scrap activities and let you gaze at penguins all day provided the weather permits. The service is scheduled to launch in November and the cost of chartering the yacht for a week is a $454,000 which is modest by some standards considering you get to travel to Antarctica on your own schedule!
