A $45,000 watch that has drops of the world’s oldest whiskey

It is not uncommon for high-end watchmakers to experiment with distinctive and quirky ideas to craft unique creations. A Polish company named Wealth Solutions, which deals in uber-luxurious collectibles, has come up with a unique line of timepieces named the ‘Spirit Watches’. These watches are made in collaboration with independent Swiss watchmakers and their unique selling proposition is that they have few drops of rare alcoholic beverages. For their latest Spirit Watch, the company collaborated with Swiss watchmaker Louis Moinet and it will house the world’s oldest whiskey.

The world’s oldest whisky, Old Vatted Glenlivet 1862, was opened in a ceremony on 14 March at the five-star H15 Boutique Hotel in Warsaw, Poland, as part of the project linking the worlds of rare spirits and collectible watches. Called the Whiskey Watch range, each timepiece will contain just one drop of Old Vatted Glenlivet and will be available for purchase starting 8th April for $45,000. Only 50 of these watches will be made out of which 40 pieces will be available in a steel case and 10 pieces in a gold case.
