Blancpain is a very strong and fascinating luxury brand. No second thoughts about it. But look at what they have next in the world of timekeeping for women. Intended to be showcased at the Baselworld in April, the latest addition to Blancpain is the Lotus line. It features 220 diamonds on a black dial with a sunray guilloche design. There are also two rows of diamonds on the double-stepped bezel. The 34mm white gold case is on a black satin strap. The watch uses the Blancpain Calibre 1150 movement. This mechanical self-winding movement drives the central hour, minute, and seconds hands, as well as the date appearing through a window at 6 o’clock. The watch’s 188 parts can be seen moving through the sapphire crystal case-back.

Blancpain will also be showing their Leman Repetition Minutes Aqua Lung. This timepiece uses a patented Blancpain invention, a complicated system to keep moisture out. The gear system connects the repeater slide and the repeater actuating lever through two racks and a transmission shaft with two intermediate wheels fitted with two “O-Ring” gaskets to ensure the system is water-tight.
