Mr Porter, the menswear counterpart to the popular online shopping destination Net-a-Porter, will be the launch site for a collection of Cartier watches, specifically their Santos de Cartier style. The seven piece collection will include one style that will remain exclusive to Mr Porter.
Santos de Cartier is the brand’s square watch with the familiar nails on the bezel. Pink gold, yellow gold, and steel watches will all be part of the collection, with the web exclusive style will have a black grained leather strap.
“The new Santos de Cartier watch is an authentic and contemporary re-working of a classic. It presents an excellent opportunity to provide our global Mr Porter customer with a brand that we know they have been waiting for,” said Toby Bateman, Mr Porter’s managing director.
The collection will go on sale at Mr Porter on April 5. The website’s representative indicated that many customers had placed requests for Cartier timepieces. Even though this is the first time Cartier will sell timepieces online, the partnership was a no-brainer especially given that a previous tie-in with Net-a-Porter had met with success.
