Among the jewelry inspired watches shown at Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie (or SIHH) by Cartier is the intriguing Tourbillon Mystérieux Azuré. Part pendant, part watch this mystical creation can’t help but draw the gaze thanks to a dazzling diamond and sapphire encrusted exterior.
The pendant’s design is inspired by a butterfly, with outstretched wings consisting of row upon row of glistening diamonds and dark blue sapphires. At the center of the transparent dial is a double tourbillon, emblematic of Cartier’s watchmaking expertise. The Swiss manual-wind Cartier in-house caliber 9463 MC movement is visible through the sapphire crystal case back. The movement is contained within a white gold case.
The chain is comprised of geometric motifs also studded with beautiful diamonds. A detachable 25.93-carat oval sapphire from Sri Lanka is suspended from the pendant, adding another element of transformation to the beautiful chain.
Around 2,050 hours of work have gone into the creation of this masterpiece amounting to nearly 17 months of labor.
