Size isn’t everything at Chanel! The brand has decided to go small with a new iteration of their ceramic called the J12 XS. The tiny timepiece has a diameter of just 19 mm and will be available in four forms. You can choose from a black or white version with a patent leather strap that can be worn either on its own or on top of a calfskin cuff in the same color priced at $4,975.
Chanel’s creative director Karl Largerfeld has inspired his own version of the watch. The J12 XS can also be worn with a pair of black lambskin fingerless gloves from Causse which are priced at $7,550 and created in a limited edition of just 150 pieces.
The cuff is also available in a larger version with six of the slender patent leather straps and in high jewelry versions which range in price from $10,000 to $105,000. A fancy sequined cuff has been created by couture embroidery atelier Lesage and is priced at $38,000 each.
This seems to be a novelty collection and a bit of a departure from the more “serious” timepieces they have been creating of late. The J12 XS will hit stores at the end of the month and will hopefully show us a more playful side to Chanel!
