Hublot and Berluti team up to create a new limited edition monochrome timepiece

The ongoing partnership between Hublot and French men’s fashion house Berluti that started in 2016 has spawned a new limited edition. The latest collaborative piece is a new interpretation of the Big Bang Unico and it presents a unique amalgamation of the design DNAs of both brands. Called the Hublot Big Bang Unico Berluti Aluminio, the timepiece features a suave monochrome look, giving it a timeless appeal. The highlight of the limited edition watch is the emblematic patinated Venezia leather that’s present on the polished titanium bezel as well as on the dial. The limited-edition gets its name from Berluti’s signature patina called Aluminio that makes its presence on the Venezia leather.

Starting with the bezel, the Venezia leather measuring 1mm thick is stuck on the gray titanium bezel using rigid resin, which is then screwed onto the 44mm titanium case. The leather on the bezel will naturally get patinated over time, giving the watch a unique look. The leather on the dial is held in place with the help of two sapphire crystals. The cut in the middle reveals the intricate inner working of the movement. The indices and words “Swiss Made” are embossed directly on the leather.

Powering the limited edition watch is the Hublot MHUB1280 self-winding movement. The in-house flyback chronograph movement offers a power reserve of three days. The watch is paired with a strap made of burnished Venezia leather. However, those in Japan can exclusively opt for a patinated Aluminio Venezia leather strap with the Scritto motif. Additionally, the watch is presented with a travel pouch and Berluti shoehorn keyring. Just like every other collaborative watch by Hublot and Berluti, the Hublot Big Bang Unico Berluti Aluminio is limited to 100 pieces. It is priced at $25,200 and available via Hublot’s official website.
