Introducing the Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar from Audemars Piguet

The latest from Audemars Piguet is the Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar, a watch that Hodinkee is already calling the hottest watch of SIHH 2017. It’s yet another addition to the all-black trend and features a matte black brushed ceramic bracelet.

The ceramic case is supposedly almost scratch-proof and is resistant to high temperatures, age, and thermal shocks. On the “Grande Tapisserie” dial you can find the beautiful moonphase and black registers. Inside is the familiar caliber 5134, but in this instance is it is the exterior which steals attention. The case took over 600 hours of research to develop and each bracelet takes thirty hours to machine, polish, hand-finish and assemble.

Hodinkee has pegged the price at around $85,000.
