Beautifully complicated – Jacob and co Astronomia Gravitational Triple Axis Tourbillon timepiece

A watch doesn’t necessarily need to have a conventional face and run-of-the-mill hands. Jacob & Co. recently proved this point with the extraordinary Astronomia Gravitational Triple Axis Tourbillon Black Gold watch. This timepiece is unlike any we’ve come across before and sports a one-of-a-kind three-dimensional Caliber JCAM10. The watch boasts of an orbital display that completes a full cycle every 20 minutes. A titanium hand-painted Earth and a Moon made out of a magnificent Jacob Cut 288-facet spherical diamond complete the watch’s orbital display. The watch comes with a black DLC-coated 18K white gold case with transparent sapphire crystal sides and a domed sapphire crystal. Behind the watch’s movement rests an aventurine and black DLC-treated 18K white gold background.

The watch measures in at 50mm and is water resistant to 30m, though we seriously doubt buyers will be jumping into swimming pools with one of these on. The strap is made from alligator leather and comes with an adjustable folding clasp in black DLC- treated 18K gold white gold. Jacob & Co.’s Astronomia Baguette on the other hand comes with an “icy astral backdrop composed of 342 invisibly set white baguette diamonds”. This watch is the perfect combined tribute to astronomy and horology.
