You can always expect to be mesmerized by the exquisite timepieces from Ulysse Nardin. And after charming the world with its historical astronomical “Trilogy of Time” timepiece, Ulysse Nardin is back with another revolutionary astronomical timepiece-Moonstruck. The watch focuses on the system of Sun, Earth, and Moon, concentrating on the scientifically accurate depiction of the moon phase, and the global influence of lunar and solar gravitation, resulting in the ebb and flow of the tides, all concepts of Dr. Ludwig Oechslin. Thanks to combining two rotating discs in one display, the moon phase indication are so precise that more than 100,000 years will have to pass before it shows a full moon rather than a new moon (or vice versa). The Moonstruck generates the Moon’s rotation around the Earth, as well as the apparent movement of the Sun around the globe, which is shown by another disc that rotates every 24 hours. The Moonstruck also displays the global dynamics of tides that depend upon Moon and Sun’s gravitational effects. The exquisite timepiece also features a pointer calendar and a quick-setting device to adjust the hour hand forward and backward by pressing the pushers plus-minus located at 2 and 4 o’clock. An in-house development, the manufacture caliber UN 106 boasts of a silicium escapement and hairspring. Intricate, classy, and yet extremely stylish, this elegant timepiece is every traveler’s perfect companion.
