Tissot Sculpture Power Reserve for the the Driver of the Year Award

The latest from Swatch company Tissot is not only a time piece to convey time but it also the watch of choice for the Driver of the Year Award, one of the most prestigious and highly anticipated awards in all of motor sports. Tissot’s new Sculpture Power Reserve model will be awarded to 2006 NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series Champion Jimmie Johnson. Encased in 18kt yellow gold, it measures 42mm and is water resistant to 30 meters. Both crystals are sapphire. The sliver dial sports the arabaic numbers, while the strap is leather. Being chosen as the watch of choice for such a well-respected and highly coveted award perfectly compliments and reinforces the brand’s heritage and global position in motor sports.

However I truly feel that this model does not seem like the right type of watch for a racing champion. Tissot could have presented a more professional or sporty watch…..don’t you think so?
