Van Cleef & Arpels has a set of exclusive collection for this year and have commissioned specialist Dominique Baron for enamelling the dials of four stunning watches inside a cabinet that is designed by Elie Bleu. The inspiration is the voyager and writer of the 19th century Jules Verne. The cabinet’s lid is decorated with a world map with four portholes showing you what you can expect inside. The four watches, inspired by Verne’s series Les Voyages Extraordinaires, will adorn the cabinet’s interiors. They are the Midnight ‘Les 4 Voyages’ five weeks in a Ballon, Twenty Thousand Leagues under the Sea, From the Earth to the Moon and A Journey to the Center of the Earth. Dominique has used the technique of paillonne enamel. Below the enamels, there is a layer of the excel sheet of gold as well, apparently increasing its brilliance.
