When I imagine your conventional metro station, I visualize bromidic escalators and cramped ticket stations. I definitely do not picture Bohemian crystal and glass lighting, chandeliers and sculptures. The sculpture can be described in two parts; one would the textured bent glass that makes up the base, while the second part entails an accustomed waterfall phased into hand-blown hollow glass drops. It doesn’t stop there. State-of-the-art technology has been used in this model with a 150W projector that casts its fine glow. A stainless steel finish completes the design, which uses LEDs and RGB-based optical fibre.

The Khalid Bin Al Waleed Station has accented its modern look with striking blue interiors and bespoke palatial chandeliers. The recent renovations have indeed brought light and modern luxury to the otherwise mundane metro stations.

Located beneath the Burjuman Mall, the Khalid Bin Al Waleed Station, familiarly known as Burjuman metro stop, provides service for the busy areas of the mall, Bank Street, and a number of diplomatic missions.

Czech designer, Jitka Kamencová Skuhravá has stamped her signature on Dubai’s Khalid Bin Al Waleed Station. An opulent water lighting sculpture beautifies the station’s ceiling. The artistic sculpture has been nicknamed as “a giant jellyfish” by the regular onlookers.
