This June completes a century, since Rolls-Royce embarked on the Austrian Alpine Trials, the most gruesome test of automotive endurance of that time. Four silver Ghosts along with a Rolls-Royce Works Team and private entrant James Radley covered over 1,820 miles of impossibly obstructed mountain terrain before the brand earned its title as makers of the ‘Best Car in the World.’ Now, a hundred years later, Rolls-Royce commemorates this moment in their history by having the bespoke division develop an Alpine Trial Centenary Collection. It would be a first for a bespoke model to take its inspiration from a heritage Rolls-Royce. The collection finds its muse in Radley’s Silver Ghost, giving the custom-made model its baby-blue color paint with black grille and wheels. The interiors host the bespoke story of the Alpine trials with the clock displaying the stages of the rally and timings, whilst inlays to rear picnic tables and the front fascia express the topography and distances of the Alpine route.

A hand-painted coach line referencing the four Rolls-Royces that took part in the rally and headlining, color-matched to the hood of Radley’s car, completes a beautiful homage. Rolls-Royce attention to detail comes across all the elements; they are handcrafted and researched to ensure accuracy.
