Visually impaired and Masterchef US winner Chef Hà plates up a four-day culinary fest at Ritz-Carlton Hong Kong’s Ozone

Celebrity chef and winner of Masterchef U.S.’s third season, Christine Huyen Tran Hà may have lost her vision but that does not bar Chef Hà from breaking barriers. From 28th June – 1st July 2017, Hongkong’s Ritz-Carlton will be showcasing a culinary spread curated by Chef Hà at Ozone. If you are a true food connoisseur like I am, I’d highly recommend indulging your taste buds in her signature Asian-influenced gourmet delicacies.

With her roots in Vietnam, Chef Hà was born in Los Angeles and raised in Houston. Although her vision slowly weakened in 2003, she didn’t allow her disability to interfere with her passion. In 2012, Chef Hà defeated over 30,000 home cooks across America to secure the coveted MasterChef title and was highly commended by the world-acclaimed Chef Gordon Ramsay. Indeed, her resume is quite impressive! From a co-host on Canadian TV show, Four Senses to authoring a cookbook, “Recipes From My Home Kitchen: Asian and American Comfort Food,”

If I were you, I’d make a reservation at least a fortnight in advance! Diners will have an exclusive opportunity to sample a range of palatable summer-themed dishes curated by Chef Hà. While her Seafood Ceviche will inaugurate dinner paired with summer fruits-infused cocktails, the mouth-watering Texas Fried Chicken Sandwich with buttermilk biscuits, honey butter and spicy pickled watermelon won’t go wrong with sips of Kool-Aid Punch. Frankly so, the Korean Wagyu Beef Taco with pickled daikon and grilled Mexican sweet corn coupled with the exotic avocado margarita makes an intriguing combination!

Of course, the best is yet to come! A dish similar to Chef Hà’s competing dish at the Masterchef finale will be presented to blindfolded epicureans as a surprise main course. Raising a toast to the city, Chef Hà will be ending the night with Hong Kong Ice Cream as dessert.
