There are hotels and there are experiences. Luxury hotel group Aman falls in the latter as every stay is a unique experience to cherish. Their resorts delight with discreet luxury, exquisite attention to detail, out of this world service, and breathtaking locales. Whether you are staying in a resort set amid soaring Himalayan peaks in Bhutan or on the edge of a tiger reserve in India, each property is unique and brings with it design cues from the surrounding environment.
You won’t find any over the top luxury like gigantic crystal chandeliers or plush furnishings as Aman’s concept is to keep it simple and discreet. What you will find is zen-like surroundings, a minimalist design with high-quality architecture, privacy, and of course that extraordinary service. Service so extraordinaire that the staff seems to have sublimely mastered the art of anticipating a guest’s needs. No detail is too small and relaxed elegance is the name of the game.
Embracing 31 resorts, hotels, and private residences in 20 countries, Aman continues to seek out transformative experiences and awe-inspiring locations around the world. Aman Junkies world over will be delighted to note its newest opening in China in October this year. Amanyangyun will be Aman’s fourth destination in China and one of the most anticipated luxury hotel openings in 2017. We’ve been given a sneak peak into Amanyangyun and here’s what you can look forward to.
Debuting this year, the Amanyangyun Shanghai resort can be described as a celebration of nature, indeed more of a bona fide sanctuary. Set within a lustrous pasture of greens, this boutique hotel offers 24 suites and 13 villas, six eateries and of course the renowned Aman spa. Designed by the renowned architect Kerry Hill, Amanyangyun exemplifies the essence of Chinese traditional culture, carefully blending the old with the new.
Vladislav Doronin, Chairman of Aman, said ‘Every Aman has a story to tell and this one is no exception. This project and the many challenges it presented were unimaginable, but we overcame them not only to defy the test of time but to push the boundaries of traditional hospitality. This resort, a legacy of the past, stands proud as an archive for future generations. I am especially grateful to Ma Dadong, the mastermind behind this unique restoration project and whose foresight and determination has made it possible to preserve the magnificent history of China for generations to come.’
The Amanyangyun Shanghai is scheduled to open later this year. For more info please visit Aman.com.
