Sanda Island – A piece of paradise sold for $3.7million

Stockholm based entrepreneur Michi Meier has just bought himself the tiny island of Sanda. The island located off the Mull of Kintyre, 13 miles south of Campbeltown and 20 miles east of Ballycastle in Northern Ireland, was bought by Meier for a mere 2.5million pounds ($3.7million). Meier, who first bought this 312-acre land for solely private use, has now decided to offer this island on rent as an escape for luxury loving folks. A paradise for luxury-loving holidaymakers, it boasts of six cottages and a tavern. The island’s previous owner, Dick Gannon, confirmed the sale but was disappointed the scenic island fetched lesser than its asking price of 3.2million pounds ($4.8million). Dick, who has owned the island for the last 20 years, hopes that the new owners uphold the island’s exclusivity and keep the tourist flow minimum.
