Andy Warhol’s 1985 portrait of Queen Elizabeth II is on sale

If you are still looking for a rare Andy Warhol, then a trial proof copy of his 1985 portrait of The Queen will go under the hammer at Bonhams Print Sale in London. Scheduled to be on 11 July, the signed and numbered print is that of Queen Elizabeth II and part of his Reigning Queens series. It was created in 1977 for her Silver Jubilee celebrations, but it was more of a pun on Raging Queens. The series also includes portraits of the Queens of Denmark, the Netherlands, and Swaziland. This is said to be his last print-portrait before his sudden demise in 1987. This piece is estimated to fetch between £40,000-£60,000 ($62,300-$93,300).
