Natalie Portman looked stunning at the Oscars this year as she donned a stunning vintage Christian Dior dress. But that dress turned out to be worth way more than just that. The strapless silk organza gown was auctioned off online on 1stdibs.com for a staggering $50,000. A brand ambassador for Miss Dior Cherie’s fragrance, the pretty lady, wasn’t even planning to wear the dress for the event. It was borrowed from a vintage New York dealer, Rare, and went to auction after being returned.
Last year Portman wore a red polka dot printed dress look, from Christian Dior’s spring/summer 1954 collection styled by Kate Young, who knows Rare’s owner, Juliana Cairone well.
