If you love diamonds and the color pink – here’s the perfect piece of wonder for you! We’re talking about an incredible gem at Christie’s that is all set to go on auction. The massive rock that is colored in the hue of love will go under the hammer at the upcoming Luxury Week. Called ‘The Fortune Pink’, the diamond’s weighs 18.18 carats which translates to “definite prosperity” in Asia, where 18 is considered a lucky number. Commenting on it, Christie’s international head of jewelry Rahul Kadakia in a statement said,
“With its auspicious weight of 18.18 carats, this exceptional pink diamond of phenomenal color will certainly bring good fortune to its new owner.” Shaped like a large pear, the pink wonder is just slightly smaller than the Winston Pink Legacy, a rectangular gem weighing 18.96 carats that fetched US$50.4 million at a Christie’s auction in November 2018.
Ahead of its sale, the Fortune Pink will be revealed at Christie’s in New York next week before being showcased at Shanghai (October 10 to 13), Taiwan (October 21 to 23), and Singapore (October 28 to 30). It will finally be auctioned on November 8, 2022, during Christie’s Luxury Week sale at the Four Seasons in Geneva.
