Stunning hands that match the Birkin in beauty are now attainable with the new Hermès nail polish and hand care collection

Heavy is the head that wears the crown, and stunning are the fingers that hold the Birkin! At least they will be thanks to Hermès launching a comprehensive collection of nail polishes and hand care called Les Mains Hermès. Luxury fashion house Hermès has the world gripped for their stunning and exorbitantly priced handbags, silk scarves, and now an entire range of nail polishes determined to make the hand a perfect companion to the bag. Les Mains Hermès ensures your hands are taken care of with a hand care cream, nourishing oil for nails and cuticles, a protective base coat, and twenty-four shades of nail polish that will spoil you for choice.

Completing the collection is a shiny top coat and a set of eye-catching nail files in signature Hermès orange hue. According to Wallpaper, artistic director Pierre-Alexis Dumas of Hermès Beauty explains: ‘The hand is the epitome of care. It is our partner, our eye, our identity. It has no gender; it signals behaviours; it is the hand of the rider or the artisan. It is both powerful and delicate.’ Without a shred of doubt, these stunning nail enamels are the most striking part of the collection. The brand decided on the name and number after Hermès’ historic home address at 24 Faubourg Saint-Honoré. Interestingly, the colors of the nail polish line hold a more profound significance and are derived from the brand’s famed enamel bracelets.

Choose subtle, summery shades like the powdery pink of Rose Porcelaine to the rich chocolate brown of Brun Bistre for dinner dates. One can never go wrong with a classic red Rouge H or jump on the trendy bandwagon with a sunny hue of Jaune Impérial. Pierre Hardy, the creative director of shoes and jewelry, is the man behind the collection’s packaging, and he pays as much attention to the look of the collection as to the contents inside. ‘This new collection builds on the natural and sophisticated nature of the first gesture, Rouge Hermès,” he says.

He continues, ‘While make-up can be fun, whimsical or dramatic, Hermès [hand] care is designed like an intimate and pure essential object. We move from center stage to the wings, with objects that are not on display but that are kept literally to hand.’ Get your hands on the coveted Les Mains Hermès nail polishes for $45 on Hermes.com.
