DJ Khaled is more than just a 40-something hip-hop celeb; the Palestinian-American music personality is a social media sensation with a fan following greater than some of the biggest brands in the world. A couple of years back, he was called “The King of Snapchat” by Coca-Cola senior VP for content for his impeccable social media influencing skills. His secret sauce? Khaled Mohammed Khaled, aka DJ Khaled, says be authentic to connect with fans.
Well, the hype man doesn’t shy away from showing off the incredible wealth he has amassed with his work and his social media followers love it. In the latest string of Instagram posts, the American DJ flaunts his Maybach 62 Landaulet as he arrives to board his private jet on his way to perform at the recently concluded NBA All-Star Game.
In one of the posts, DJ Khaled can be seen rolling next to his jet in the pearl-white Maybach and greeting the crew. Right in front of the ladder to the private jet is the famous blue foot mat that has been regularly featured on his social media posts and inscribed with his catchphrase “We The Best.”
The jet catering to the music personality is a Gulfstream G650, as revealed by Khaled himself in the caption. Just to remind you, it’s the standard version of the same jet used by Elon Musk that has been in the news a lot over the last few weeks.
The aircraft is powered by two Rolls-Royce BR725 engines and has a top speed of Mach 0.925 (710 mph). We get a brief glimpse of the luxurious cabin of the private jet that’s wrapped in wood, leather, and premium materials.
But we’re a tad bit more interested in DJ Khaled’s Maybach 62 Landaulet than his private jet just because of how cool the luxury limo is. While the celebrity world has found their new favorite in the Mercedes-Maybach GLS SUV if not the S-Class-based Maybach sedan, DJ Khaled’s ride is the OG. It’s from the time when Maybach was a separate brand under DaimlerChrysler AG. A little more than 3000 examples of the Maybach sedan were built between 2000 and 2012, making them incredibly rare.
The Maybach 62 Landaulet went into production in 2008 and featured the classic landaulet car body style, which was popular in the 1920s and 30s. The Landaulet’s front seats are fully enclosed while the rear passenger section gets a convertible soft-top that can be mechanically folded down exposing the rear compartment to the open sky. In several Instagram posts, DJ Khaled can be seen enjoying his Maybach with its top pulled down. No modern luxury limo can match that, can it?
