Mackenzie Scott opens her purse yet again, this time donating a record breaking $7 million to boost the economic mobility of Boston non-profit Jewish Vocational Service.

Mackenzie Scott, the mega-donor, is back at it again. Continuing her legacy of giving, she has made a generous $7 million unrestricted donation to Jewish Vocational Service (JVS) Boston. This contribution will help the organization expand its support for individuals and families striving for economic mobility. The funds will target five key areas in the coming years, including workforce training, enhancing community partnerships, and creating innovative solutions to workforce challenges.

Scott’s philanthropy will provide the stability JVS needs to pursue these goals while adapting to the evolving workforce landscape. Notably, this donation marks the largest individual gift in JVS Boston’s history. “This extraordinary gift is a profound endorsement of the long-term impact we aim to make at JVS,” said Kira Khazatsky, CEO of JVS Boston. “This investment ensures we can continue our mission for generations to come.”

With an annual operating budget of $30 million, JVS Boston will now be better equipped to address the “ever-changing needs of the Massachusetts workforce”. Earlier this month, on Housing Trust Silicon Valley’s 25th anniversary, Scott also contributed $30 million to support affordable housing in the Bay Area.
