Being famous is great, but being related to someone well-known is even better. YouTuber PewDiePie, aka Felix Arvid Ulf Kjellberg, is a mega influencer who boasts a massive YouTube following (111 million subscribers) and is one of the most prominent content creators on the platform. The Swedish YouTuber first announced he and Marzia were making a move to Japan in September 2019. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, their plans were derailed, and they experienced another hiccup for a different reason. This time it was their overweight doggo. No longer keen on wasting time, the gamer flew all the way to the land of the rising sun from Brighton, England, on a chartered jet.

After acquiring a five-year business visa, the successful YouTuber flew in the company of his wife and pets while letting millions of fans in on their experience flying to the country on his YouTube vlog. Worried for their precious pups and that the pugs in cargo can suffer from difficulty in breathing, the generous pet owner decided to charter an airplane instead. PewDiePie’s pet Edgar was overweight, so flying them in a cabin in a carrier was also not an option as a pet’s maximum weight is 8-9 kg. That’s when being the pet of this YouTube phenomenon came in handy, and the pets flew private. The Swedish YouTube sensation raked in a whopping $70 Million + earnings in 2019 alone, according to a report from OnBuys.com.

PewDiePie shared, “For so long we doubted whether we could even make this move, and we went through all the ups and downs, and obviously, it’s been a really long journey,” as per Economic Times. He added, “Edgar is 10 kilos,” he said. “Instead, we’re flying private jet because my dog is too fat.” According to One Esports, the YouTube millionaire rented a private jet valued at almost $80,000, according to a quote by PrivateFly.
