Dramatic operas inspire Acqua di Parma’s Note di Colonia series of fragrances

Italian fragrance company Acqua di Parma is planning to launch their latest series of fragrances in September. The series is called Note di Colonia and contains three fragrances that celebrate the 100th anniversary of the original Colonia fragrance from the same brand. The trio of fragrances also draws inspiration from music, with operas cites as a reference point for each scent. Each of the three scents reinterprets Colonia differently and are packaged in bottles that are versions of the Colonia flacon.

Note di Colonia I
The scent notes: The fragrance opens with the citrus notes of bergamot, neroli which give way to a deeply floral heart of lavender, rose and violet accord and a warm base of patchouli, cedarwood.
The mood: This scent is vibrant and joyous, with its bouquet of sumptuous florals that will never fail to lift your mood! Influenced by the Libiamo ne lieti calico duet, from La Traviata by Giuseppe Verdi (one of the world’s most famous operas), this fragrance is bright and fresh with a sophisticated finish.
When to wear it: Buoy your mood by sporting this fragrances on dates, casual outings, brunch meetings and cocktail parties.

Note di Colonia II
The scent notes: The top notes are bergamot, orange, grapefruit, basil and cardamom while the middle notes feature sandalwood and gaiac wood. The base is a familiar blend of musk and vetiver.
The mood: As an homage to Puccini’s art and to “Nessun dorma” this scent is all about morning twilight with its chill that gives way to the warm sun. The perfume’s notes mimic that perfectly with cool notes of sparkling citrus that evolve into warm wood.
When to wear it: This is a great everyday fragrance. It’s subtle and versatile so don’t hesitate to wear it to work, to your girls’ nights out or to a family barbecue. Note di Colonial II could become your signature scent without you even realising it.

Note di Colonia III
The scent notes: Mandarin and ginger are the openers followed by middle notes of vetiver, olibanum, jasmine and a base of tonka bean, ciste labdanum and myrrh.
The mood: Inspired by “Marcia Trionfale” in Aida, this fragrance is majestic and unapologetically grand. The powerful fragrance is almost romantic in its intensity and is as delicate and refined a composition as the opera that inspires it.
When to wear it: Save it for big occasions, black tie events, an anniversary dinner or a festive party. It’s a memorable fragrance for a memorable night!

Every 150 ml bottle of Eau de Cologne will be priced at $ 475
