For a purveyor of a hedonistic lifestyle, there is no better place to live than Dubai. It is the wind beneath the wings of luxury lovers who fancy an unusually lavish lifestyle. Keeping this fascination for flamboyance in mind, the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has launched its smart app on Apple Vision Pro glasses. This makes the Emirate the first to launch a utility service through this technology that combines augmented and virtual reality. DEWA is banking on the capabilities and features of the fantastic product that is the Apple Vision Pro to enhance customer services.
The wide array of services and features include accessing the app using the UAE Pass, a username and password, or through eyeprint authentication. According to the official website, customers can view bill details and pay using Apple Pay, access the Smart Living dashboard, as well as view annual, monthly, and daily consumption. To become a responsible resident, these reports can be compared to similar homes through the My Sustainable Living Programme.
The smart app educates customers on their footprint and provides tips to enhance consumption efficiency. ‘We use the latest disruptive technologies of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, including generative AI, metaverse, and others. DEWA’s advanced digital infrastructure has contributed to increasing the smart adoption of its services to 99.2%,’ said HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of DEWA.
In 2023, DEWA witnessed approximately 12.5 million digital transactions conducted by its customers, compared to 10 million transactions recorded in 2022. The future has already arrived in Dubai!
