A startup is making ‘the Rolls Royce of smartphones’

There are tons of jewelers who would bedazzle your iPhone or Galaxy phone with gold and precious stones. But if you want a pure luxury smartphone then its just Vertu for you. The British company, previously owned by Nokia has single handedly dominated the luxury smartphone space. But an Israeli startup is about to change that. Sirin Labs has just raised $72 million in a bid to build ‘Solarin’ the company first product which the company claims would be the ‘Rolls Royce of smartphones’. According to the company the phone is built with the aim to “create the most advanced mobile device that combined the highest privacy settings, operated faster than any other phone, built with the best materials from around the world.”. The company has been tight lipped on the phone except that it would be launched in May along with the company first store in London.

It will be interesting to see how the phone stacks up to the iPhones and Galaxies of the world. As there are plenty of apps available across both the platforms which are extremely effective in securing the phone’s data. Sion Labs would surely need much more than exotic materials to create a true luxury smartphone. There have been reports that the device would be selling for $10,000 and up when it releases in the end of May.
