Designer Food? Dolce and Gabbana are ready to launch a limited edition collection of pasta

Dolce and Gabbana have proudly celebrated their Italian heritage with every season through their apparel and accessories on the runway. Be it the silhouettes, prints or campaigns, the designers love all things Italian. Now, the designers have embraced another Italian staple- pasta!

The designer duo has partnered with Italian pasta maker Pastificio di Martino to create a limited edition series of dried pasta. The pasta is sold in designer tins each of which contains four bags of pasta in different shapes. 5000 tins have been created for worldwide distribution and less than 1000 of those will be sold in the USA.

Along with the pasta, D and G have created an apron that features the tagline, “La Famiglia, La Pasta, e L’Italia!” (It translates to “Family, Pasta and Italy!”). Both, the apron and the pasta packaging feature a red, blue and yellow color scheme and tile prints.

The limited edition pasta tins will be available online from November 15th at dimartinodolcegabbana.com and in select stores including Buon’Italia in Chelsea Market in New York.
