Heinz and Fortnum & Mason team up to create questionable ketchup truffles for Valentine’s Day

Heinz Tomato Ketchup is teaming up with Fortnum & Mason on the occasion of Valentine’s Day or what they’re calling ValenHeinz Day, by releasing a box of Heinz Tomato Ketchup Truffles. Whether this will turn your V-day into terrific or trashy is something only time will tell. For those who know their partners and their tastes well, you can decide whether or not to gift the rather odd combination of chocolate and tomato sauce. Nine of these unusual truffles come in a sweetheart box that oddly reminds me of Heinz beans. Anyhow, this box of nine milk, white, and dark chocolate truffles are filled with a blonde chocolate ganache and Heinz Tomato Ketchup. I guess you can play a game with these; if you land with the tomato-ketchup truffle you clearly are pranked!

Heinz, on the other hand, sees nothing wrong with this stunt and says the bright and tangy tomato flavor from the ketchup bursts through the silky creamy rich ganache with a sweet finish. You can pick up a box of these very questionable truffles for £19.95 ($26) from January 30 online or in-store at the Piccadilly, St. Pancras, The Royal Exchange, and Heathrow Terminal 5 locations.
