You may have seen a few Hello Kitty Pop-ups and a fleeting exhibition or two of its kind in the country before. But all thanks to Sanrio, the U.S of A is now set to open its first permanent Hello Kitty Café in Irvine! Yes, that’s right! The pink, pretty and promising venture is up and running and we’re sure you’d find it just as adorable as us!
Located at the Irvine Spectrum Center, the Hello Kitty Grand café is built on two intriguing concepts: a grab-and-go area out front and a reservations-only experience in The Bow Room. The former area can seat up to 12 people and is ideal for those looking to feast on delicious baked goods along with some Hello Kitty-themed icons and art that adorns its mostly white washed walls.
The highlight of the Grand Café is the Bow Room that opens via a plain white door with a gold bow-shaped knocker to stun you. A pink paradise of sorts, the room showcases sleek Hello Kitty-branded fixtures (such as the glowing Hello Kitty outline by the bar) and serves afternoon tea by day and a premium cocktail service by night.
As expected, the café has received a thrilling response so far with reservations for afternoon tea and cocktail services having been completely booked for 30 days out! As long as you don’t mind Long ques and a buzzing crowd, it’s probably worth visiting the quirky Hello Kitty Grand Café. After all it’s the first (and hopefully not the last) of its kind in the country!
