Italian luxury brand Montegrappa has introduced a range of writing instruments in honor of one of the most evocative names in the history of automobiles, Bugatti. Called the ‘Bugatti Pur San Duetone’, the line of pens is inspired by the Bugatti Veyron hypercar. “It is with immense pleasure that we are producing a line of accessories for Bugatti, like meeting old friends once more. Montegrappa had the privilege of creating pens during the era of the Type EB110, so it is doubly meaningful for us to renew a relationship with the famous marque of Molsheim,” said Montegrappa CEO Giuseppe Aquila.
To create Bugatti Pur Sang Duotone writing instruments, Montegrappa studied the details and surfaces of the Veyron, inside and out. Just like most of the Bugatti Veyrons that came with dual-tone painjobs, the Montegrappa pens have dual-color scheme, which is also reflected in the series’ name. The writing instruments are available in five combinations: Indigo Blue/Rhodium, Bugatti Blue/Rhodium, Matte Black /Ruthenium, Argus Pheasant Brown/Rose Gold, Pearl/Rose Gold. The metal surfaces are engraved with a pattern of “Dynamic Quilting”, recalling the upholstery within a Veyron.
All Bugatti Pur Sang Duotone pens are packaged in especially designed oval boxes to recall the marquee’s logo. The lid’s inner surface features the “Dynamic Quilting” pattern, while the outer case suggests carbon fiber, as used extensively in the Veyron. Bugatti Pur Sang Duotone pens are offered as fountain pens, rollerballs, ballpoint pens and mechanical pencils.
