Step into the future with Swarovski’s app-controlled smart chandelier

There’s something undeniably dreamy and opulent about chandeliers. With their twinkling crystals and warm light, they add drama and glamour to any room. But while most of the chandeliers you’ve probably seen so far are probably large and imposing confections of lights and crystals, the Infinite Aura Swarovski Crystal Ceiling Pendant makes a statement with a fairly minimalist design.

The chandelier is designed by a design firm named Ideo for Swarovski, so it incorporates plenty of dazzling crystals. But don’t expect them to be dripping all over, they are strategically placed within the light fixture’s circular design to make a subtle statement. Ideo’s Coutney Song told Fast Company that the chandelier had to be more compact to be compatible with more modern homes.

The innovative design features a ring of metal that is lined on the inside by Swarovski crystals which reflect the light emitted by the LEDs integrated into the chandelier. In the center of the ring is a mirrored glass plate that reflects the crystals and light to give an infinite refection. You can control the LED lights using an app that lets you choose from different modes that offer distinct lighting effects.

The Infinite Aura collection by Swarovski will be available this summer at authorized Swarovski Lighting retailers with prices ranging from $2000 (wall sconce) to $5000 (large pendant lamp).
