A first of its kind luxury glamping hotel right in the center of Melbourne

Australian entrepreneur Jerome Borazio’s newest hospitality enterprise may just be the next big thing in luxury vacations (or staycations, if you’re from Melbourne). His venture: St. Jerome’s: The Hotel combines the fun and adventure of camping with all the luxury facilities of a five star hotel. The Glamping (glamor camping) experience lets you stay in high-class bell tents on the roof on Melbourne Central.

Not only are guests treated to stunning views of the city, they also have access to 24-hour concierge service and a bar, plus unique touches like free tai chi and meditation classes in the morning, breakfast hampers and a series of guest-only adventures that will be announced in the coming weeks. Now this, is a camping trip we can get on board with.

You can choose between Luxe (4m tents) and Luxe plus (5m tents) tents, the latter of which also boast minibars. The tents are heated so you don’t need to fear the weather. Rates start at AU$330 per night (about US$250). The rooftop campsite is also home to a general store where you can buy everything from socks to Champagne.
If you love the idea of a “getaway” then this is the right experience for you. We already love the idea of glamor camping, here’s hoping this trend catches on in the US too!
