Karl Lagerfeld to design new Sofitel So Singapore’s emblem

Karl Lagerfeld is one of the most creative and eccentric designers in the world today, as designer, his expertise and design aesthetic has been applied to more than just Chanel and Fendi. He has worked with Shu Umera to create eyelashes, with Agusta Westland to create VIP helicopters, with Net-A-Porter for an online fashion brand and with Rolls Royce for a photoshoot. His latest collaboration is with Sofitel So Singapore, where he will be redesigning the emblem for the new hotel. The emblem will represent the hotel’s new and original style that will remain unique to Sofitel So Singapore. Sofitel’s growing presence in the world is obvious with the new Sofitel hotel opening in Mumbai, Rio, and Sydney. Sofitel has a unique atmosphere to it as it develops an environment that is both classically French whilst still taking on the local flavor of its location. The Sofitel So Label works with designers to present a collaboration between two countries, as can be seen with Christian Lacroix’s Sofitel So Bangkok. Sofitel So Singapore’s collaboration with Karl Lagerfeld will ensure that the hotel becomes one of the more Iconic Sofitel hotels.

Located on Robinson Road in Singapore, the Sofitel So’s iconic building was first built in 1927 where it remains a telecommunications and postal building till 1992. The five-star hotel has retained the neoclassical facade of the original building whilst adding a five-story construction behind it. The hotel will feature 134 guestrooms, including 23 suites. Each room reflecting the unique cultural combination of combining Singapore with France that will be represented in the Lagerfeld created emblem.
