Suite of the week – Ocean View Pool Villa at the Banyan Tree Seychelles

With pristine white-sand beaches, lush forests, and dramatic mountains, Mahé Island in the Seychelles is a true tropical paradise. Nestled in the heart of it all with some truly gorgeous ocean views is the glorious Banyan Tree Seychelles hotel. Its beauty is unlike any other — surrounded with lush palm fronds and the canopy of sheltering rainforest on one side, and a sun kissed beach with warm turquoise waters on the other. Look no further for this is paradise indeed.

Our suite of the week title goes to the Ocean View Pool Villa at the Banyan Tree Seychelles. We’ve got to agree with the hotel when they refer to this as a haven nestled away amongst the fullness of verdant forest life. The luxurious ocean facing villa is colonial-inspired and comes with a master bedroom and living and dining quarters. Measuring 1044 sq. ft., it also features a veranda with sun loungers, a private swimming pool, a double sun lounger on the pool deck, an indoor sunken tub with deluxe shower, and his-and-hers vanity counters. If we have to pick a favorite spot in this villa (couples take note), it would be your own private sky-suspended pool or the pool’s loveseat. A lovely option offering wonderful privacy!

Now let’s get into the architecture and design. The style in the rooms is a blend of contemporary and colonial decor. With its cool wooden deck, white balconies and views of white sand and turquoise water it is, simply, the place to stay. The villa has elegant furnishings, cool stone floors, wide glass windows with good views, and every comfort, including air-conditioning, tea and coffee making facilities, and complimentary wireless and internet access. We also like the fact that all the rooms are located to give you the most privacy possible – so you don’t have other people walking directly past your room or looking into your enclosed pool area.

When in the Seychelles you definitely have to try Creole cuisine and there’s no better place to try some than at Chez Lamar at the Banyan Tree Seychelles. An irresistible menu of Creole cuisine complements the classic setting of verdant greenery and the melody of tumbling ocean waters. Another restaurant with a good view and of course good food is the Au Jardin d’Epices which offers full buffet breakfasts, light snacks, salads, sandwiches and meals for lunch, and an amazing menu of international dishes for dinner.

Why should you splurge on it?
The Ocean View Pool Villa is a lovely option for couples, with each villa having its own pool and offering wonderful privacy. It’s the place you come to for a “hideaway.” The one thing that makes it splurge-worthy is the marvelous views. Look outside and you will find a powdery white sand beach fringed with coconut trees, and turquoise waters as far as the eye can see. Now you can’t put a price on a view like this, can you?
