Louis Vuitton’s newest high jewelry collection celebrates space exploration

After the appointment of Francesca Amfitheatrof as artistic director for jewelry and watches Louis Vuitton hasn’t ceased to impress with the most elaborate fine jewelry collections to date. With the Stellar Times collection, Francesca Amfitheatrof is bringing the world the second mindboggling Louis Vuitton High Jewellery collection. Louis Vuitton did set the benchmark rather high a few years ago with the Regalia jewelry collection and Francesca Amfitheatrof leaves us starry-eyed yet again with a celestial collection that explores the stars, constellations, and the universe like never before. The Stellar Times collection consists of 90 exceptional pieces coming to life with a colorful play of materials like diamonds, opals, sapphires, rubies, emeralds, spinels, and tourmalines. These materials make dreams turn into reality, make the intangible very acquirable through seven extraordinary themes, the House journeys to the far reaches of a powerful galaxy, and bring it to the Louis Vuitton woman on a gold canvas with inimitable design. Louis Vuitton has always sought inspiration from travel, and this time, they are boundless, diving deep into the infinite universe to offer the very best. The seven themes of the Stellar Times Collection include The red planet Astrue Rouge, led by the ruby; emerald and sapphire are chosen for Planète Blue; translucent green-blue indicolite tourmaline for Apogée; and a constellation of kaleidoscope-hued spinels form Interstellaire. Louis Vuitton honors Mars with a dazzling choker featuring rubies from Mozambique. Black opals represent Céleste and dazzle with emeralds and sapphires in a ring, and yellow sapphires and spessartite garnets emulate the sun into a cocktail ring for Soleils.

Francesca Amfitheatrof said in a statement, “This theme is inspiring because of the artistic value in stones embodying planets, but I am also fascinated by the immensity of the cosmos, by journeying through space and by this feeling of wonder at all the beauty of the universe. Some of the best astronauts are now women. And very soon, we will be able to travel to Mars. The brand reflects these incredible advances and has always been a daring pioneer in travel and adventure.”
