Two of France’s richest families that also own the largest luxury empires pledged 300 million Euros ($ 339 million) to help rebuild the Notre Dame. The iconic 850-year-old cathedral in Paris which was partially destroyed in a massive fire yesterday.
Bernard Arnault and his LVMH family have pledged €200 million while the Pinault family who owns the Kering luxury good company has pledged €100 million. The funds will be used to rebuild the spire and the roof of the medieval cathedral which were completely destroyed in a fire that raged on for more than 15 years. We do hope that Notre Dame will rise from the ashes and be restored to its former glory in no time.
