Swarovski unveils world’s first crystal studded merry-go-round in Kuala-Lumpur

Last year, Swarovski built one of the tallest Christmas trees in Kuala Lumpur, which was decorated with the finest Swarovski crystals in its meters long height. This year, the brand is back with a bedazzling display yet again. Only this time, it is a fully functioning crystal embedded merry-go-round!

The sparkling structure will be erected at Pavilion, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia’s premium shopping destination. The unveiling ceremony that took place last week, was attended by the who’s who of town, including celebrities such as Debbie Goh, Elaine Daly, Joanne Yew, Lynn Lim, and Thanuja Ananthan and recently crowned Miss Astro Chinese International Pageant 2016 Serene Lim. The event was further graced by Neelofa and Venice Min, who happen to be long-term associates of the brand. The evening witnessed an alluring opening performance led by renowned Malaysian dance sensation, Suhaili Micheline, showcasing Swarovski’s 2016 Holiday Collection, followed by the lighting ceremony by Mr. Aymeric Lacroix, Managing Director of Swarovski’s Consumer Goods Business (CGB), Southeast Asia, Dato’ Joyce Yap, CEO of Retail, Pavilion KL and special guest Godfrey Gao, famous Taiwanese-born Canadian actor and international supermodel.

The invitees then went on to ride on the dazzling merry-go-round, which in fact draws its inspiration from Swarovski Crystal World in Austria. The ride is emblazoned with 3,000,000 pieces of sparkling crystals with touches of gold and blue. For those who fancy its ride, the merry go round is placed at the Pavilion mall up till the 1st of January, with riders having to shell out only RM10 as a fee. Further, 10 percent of its proceeds will be donated to charity. Those spending their Christmas in KL, make way to the Pavilion mall for a glittering ride of a lifetime!
