I don’t need to remind you that Christian von Koenigsegg is a mad genius. His eponymous company, operating out of a former Swedish Air Force hangar in the town of Angelholm, builds some of the wildest and most technologically advanced hypercars. Known for constantly pushing the boundaries of automotive engineering, Koenigsegg’s obsession with craftsmanship and setting new standards doesn’t end with its multi-million-dollar hypercars. If you’re an automotive enthusiast, I’m sure you must be aware of how cool the Koenigsegg key fobs are. But the Swedish boutique manufacturer has now revealed a new key fob holder, which is just as insanely over-engineered as its jaw-dropping hypercar.
The stunning key holder was previously previewed by the company and its founder last year, but it was still a prototype back then. What you see here is the production version, which screams opulence and exclusivity. While each key fob is specifically made and custom-finished to match the details of the hypercar it belongs to, the holder is etched with the VIN of the corresponding vehicle. The holder is made from polished aluminum, and its shape is a three-dimensional representation of Koenigsegg’s shield emblem. According to the hypercar manufacturer, the holder’s design is inspired by the famous Fabergé egg and is precisely constructed to ensure a “micrometer-perfect” fit for the key.
As for the casing of the holder, it is crafted out of polished aluminum and carbon fiber and features an Alcantara lining. The case also acts as the stand for the holder when turned upside down. “When your Koenigsegg is parked in the garage, this keyholder on your mantelpiece serves as a reminder to take it for a spin again,” the caption along the Instagram post by Koenigsegg reads. There’s no information if the key holder comes as standard with the Jesko, but we’re sure that the buyers of the hypercar that starts at $3 million won’t mind spending extra on the beautiful piece of sculptural art even if it costs more than a regular hatchback.
