With Christmas just around the corner, holiday decorations are in full swing, transforming neighborhoods, homes, and public spaces into enchanting wonderlands. Over the last few years, we’ve seen a rising trend of supercar owners wrapping their prized possessions in Christmas lights, mainly to attract attention on social media platforms.
You might remember YouTuber Alex Choi tricked out his custom Lamborghini Huracan with LED lights last year to spread Christmas cheer on the streets of LA. Jumping on the bandwagon this year is a Netherlands-based car dealer, Bernards Exclusives, that decorated a Bugatti Chiron with LED lights to create the world’s fastest Christmas tree.
The Dutch dealership took to Instagram to post a video of the decorated Chiron, which can be seen shimmering in the dark. The caption claims it is worth 4 million euros (about $4.25 million), which should arguably make it the most expensive Christmas tree in the world. According to the Dutch publication Pure Luxe, the folks at the dealership spent close to four hours to cover the hyper-expensive Bugatti with LED lights.
Obviously, it must not have been an easy task, considering that any mistake can cause thousands of dollars worth of damage. Interestingly, decorating a car with lights is illegal in the Netherlands, like most other countries. Yet, the trend continues to grow thanks to the constant pursuit of gaining popularity on the internet.
