BW1 golfcart hovercraft is selling for $58,000 and up for hire at Ohio’s golf club too

The BW1 Golf Cart hovercraft wowed all golfers when it was announced back in April. Now, it is up for purchase at Hammacher Schlemmer for $58,000. It is also reported that a golf club in Springfield, Ohio is the first course of placing orders for two BW1 hover golf carts. Fitted with a 65-hp twin-cylinder Hirth engine, this cart rises 9″ above the ground over a bubble of air. This enables the cart to move from ground to pond effortlessly and does less harm to the greens. Big enough to transfer four golfers and two golf bags, it also boasts of being the only hovercraft to feature the patented fly-by-wire reverse thrust system, which provides braking and backward hovering up to 25 mph. Sized at 13′ L x 7′ W x 4′ H and weighing 600 lbs., it has a 33 times lighter footprint than the human foot.

The Ohio golf club will offer this BW1 hovercraft to players for a fee of $230 for a single round.
