A car needs to look just as good on the inside, as it does on the outside. Bentley understands the importance of having great interiors in its cars and has recently unveiled an innovative interior finish. Using state-of-the-art stone veneer technology, Mulliner has managed to create a one-of-a-kind interior stone veneer finish for Bentley. The interiors boast of slate and quartzite stone that is sourced from quarries in Rajasthan and Andhra Pradesh, India. These stone surfaces in the car are just 0.1 mm thick; making sure that the car remains lightweight but still looks great on the inside.
Quoting Geoff Dowding, Director of Mulliner Operations, “Bentley is the established expert in the handcrafting of wood and leather, and now we are exploring new, fine and rare materials to offer even more bespoke tailoring and choice to our customers. Stone veneers are another first for Bentley – but only the beginning of what we plan to do with this luxurious and unique material.” This is probably the first time stone has been used in a car’s interior. The finish on the dashboard of the car is extremely elegant and aesthetically sound. The stone veneers are available in four natural finishes, including Galaxy, Autumn White, Terra Red and Copper, and can be included in the Bentley Continental and Flying Spur.
